Madness

A poem by Mark Gulino

Memory drowned in madness and rage,
a wanderer among lost souls who
tear the veil of flesh with tooth and nail.
Head and spine; roses plucked from
the hand of life and
delivered upon death’s door.
Smoke gives way to a whispering moon.
Ghosts chased from a haunted mind.
An angel of alchemy
reaches gently to offer
a choice.
Wake and follow the tracks to
a place before the end
began.
